There really is little point stressing the fact of the best time to visit Sydney to take part in events, celebrations and any other festivals that may be taking place.

Sydney is a city where you can visit at any time of the day, month or year and there will be something spectacular going on.

NRL Telstra Premier Grand Final Week

October 2nd-4th

Taking place at the Sydney Olympic park this is probably the world’s biggest and most important event in Rugby League. It definitely is Australia’s largest and most entertaining sporting spectacle.

During the event there will be many activities for fans and kids alike so when your favourite team is not playing then there will plenty of other options to occupy your time.

Sydney Blues and Roots Festival

October 22nd-25th

The Sydney Blues and Roots Festival is rapidly becoming one of the premier music events on the Australian calendar. Showcasing the very best of established and emerging Blues and Roots acts from around Australia presenting diverse and different styles of music.

It is an eclectic blend of differents cultures, ages and styles offering a multitude of fresh and original performances. It all take place in the historic town of Windsor under an hour’s drive from Sydney’s CBD.

The promoters of this year’s event truly believe that it will be the biggest and best to date. Along with home grown talent there will also be international artists gracing the stage.

Loy Krathong

November 14th

If you have never experienced the Loy Krathong festival before you should definitely take time out to experience it.

The Parramatta River plays host to the event and come alive with light, colour and mystic energy for the celebrations of the ancient Thai Buddhist festival.

The festival pays tribute to Phra Mae Kong Ka who is the goddess of water and to thank her for providing water during the rice growing season. Small, lotus shaped, buoyant baskets decorated with flowers, candles and money are floated down rivers or set out to sea to symbolize the drifting away of bad luck and to bring good fortune. It is said that if your candle stays alight until it goes out of sight then you will have good luck for a whole year.

There will be many Thai demonstrations, exhibitions of delicate crafts and of course fusion food.

Electronic Music Conference

December 1st – 2nd

Now in it’s fourth year the Sydney Electronic Music Conference (EMC) is Asia-Pacific’s premier dance music industry event.

The conference attracts over 1,000 industry members and some of the world’s leading figures from electronic music including artists such as; Tiesto, Diplo, Armin Van Buuren, Dillon Francis, Laidback Luke, Boyz Noise and Ferry Corsten alongside major industry figures Matthew Adell, Ash Pournouri and Gary Richards.

The 2016 event, EMC will be taking over the Ivy with exclusive use of the magnificent ballroom, penthouse, the Den and the Terrace.
